As a kick-off for the year to ensure that commitments of the NEDA family in the region are put into action and deliverables are realized, the NEDA RO2 spearheaded the conduct of a NEDA-POPCOM-PSA 2021 Work Planning Dialogue on 08 January 2021 via videoconference.

The activity aimed to strengthen the collaboration among the NEDA family towards the realization of the NEDA’s 2021 Thrusts and Priorities, to engage in knowledge sharing on the respective agencies’ significant accomplishments, and to discuss opportunities and pressing issues that affect the delivery of agency commitments.

 

The dialogue was participated by Regional Director Marilyn T. Estrada of the PSA 2, Assistant Regional Director Theresa C. Soriano of POPCOM 2, and NRO2 Officials composing of Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., Assistant Regional Director Ferdinand P. Tumaliuan, Division Chiefs, and the Supervising EDS/AO staff.

 

As a result, the agencies were able to identify specific activities and strategies for cooperation and complementation along common areas of concern to include population development integration in planning, population management in support to the RDP, localization of SDG indicators, SDG and RDP core indicators monitoring, strengthening of local statistics system, research on population and migration, and implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). Ultimately, the three agencies committed to incorporate the agreements to their respective agency Work and Financial Plan for FY 2021.
