SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. confirmed the immediate recommendation of the National Economic and Development Authority Region 02 to acquire its ISO 9001:2015 recertification under its quality management system. This was announced by SOCOTEC’s Audit Team Leader Joel Ravanilla during the conclusion of the whole-day virtual ISO 9001 audit conducted on May 31, 2021.


Ravanilla affirmed the continued conformity and effectiveness of NEDA RO2’s quality management system. In his closing statements, Ravanilla commended NEDA RO2’s practices particularly on the implementation of the division chiefs rotation to improve management efficiency across the five divisions of the office. He also highlighted the other commendable accomplishments of the office which include facilities improvements, adoption of DOLE’S internship program, conduct of coaching in place of physical trainings and personnel competency and awareness which were evident during the entire audit.

In response, NEDA RO2 Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. acknowledged the effort and commitment of the different process owners who ensured compliance of their respective process areas. Without which, the organization would not have successfully secured this important recertification which is a testament of NEDA RO2’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

SOCOTEC’s audit team was composed of three auditors who simultaneously conducted the document review and interview covering the different process areas, namely, Program/Project Monitoring and Evaluation; Plan/Policy Formulation and Monitoring; Investment Programming and Budgeting; Development Research; Document Control; Data Banking Provision of Spatial Data; and Resource Management.

The ISO certification is conducted every three years while the surveillance audit is done annually which was conducted last July 1, 2020, also by SOCOTEC. This ISO recertification is valid until 2023.
