The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 2 concluded this year’s strategic planning on February 16 with the review of NEDA thrusts and priorities along with the preparation of performance commitments and targets in the Division Performance Commitment and Review forms (DPCRs).

Citing NEDA’s top thrusts and priorities of Secretary Karl Kendrick T. Chua, Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. discussed the potential regional applications which should guide the NEDA2 management and staff in setting their commitments for the year.

The top four priorities of NEDA include the (1) smarter infrastructure, (2) regional equity, (3) innovation, and (4) mitigating and adapting to climate change. RD Ledres encouraged the NEDA2 staff to take advantage of the strategic location of the region and its vast natural resources in identifying programs and projects aligned with the abovementioned priorities. “Region 2 has great potential. It must take advantage of its strategic location, vast land and water resources which are not present in other regions,” he said.

Guided by these priorities, the five divisions of NEDA2 prepared their respective DPCRs.  In the plenary session in the afternoon, the NEDA2 management and staff reviewed and improved these DPCRs, making it strategic and collaborative.

The 2022 Strategic Planning Workshop concluded with the recognition of staff with outstanding performance in CY 2020 and 2021 through the awarding of the NEDA Recognition, Awards, and Incentives System for Excellence (NEDA-RAISE) certificates.
