The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) conducted the first consultation workshop in the Cagayan Valley Region to craft the Trabaho Para sa Bayan (TPB) Plan, the country’s master plan for the future of work. The two-day activity was held on 3-4 June, 2024 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The activity aims to assess the region’s employment landscape and identify its contribution and direction to the future of work. NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edillon, along with other NEDA Officials and distinguished speakers, discussed valuable perspectives on fostering job creation, salient features of Republic Act No 11962 or the TPB Act, and the current and future labor workforce in the Philippines.

The inputs generated from the consultation will be integrated in the formulation of the TPB Plan. It will be the country’s employment generation and recovery master plan which includes a three-year, six-year, and 10-year development timeline for its vision, mission, goals, and milestones.

The regional consultation workshop brought together a total of 62 participants from the regional line agencies, academe, labor and employer organizations, civil society groups, and private sector representatives of the Regional Development Council.

The activity marks the collective effort of different stakeholders to sculpt the future of work and ensure that the region’s workforce is prepared to face the evolving economic demands.
