The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 02 successfully hosted the NEDA Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting in Tuguegarao City on June 6-7, 2024. It was presided by Socioeconomic Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, and attended by Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries, Staff Directors at the Central Office, and Regional Directors and Assistant Regional Directors from the various regions across the country. Significant internal matters were discussed and resolved, and important policy directions and guidance were agreed to further improve the agency’s delivery of services to stakeholders.

Project site visits were conducted on June 7, 2024 for the NEDA MANCOM delegates. The group visited the Solana Resettlement Project in Gadu, Solana, Cagayan, and the Chico River Pump Irrigation Project in Pinukpuk, Kalinga. On the same day, Secretary Balisacan led the MANCOM members in a dinner meeting with RDC2 Chair Governor Rodolfo Albano III at the latterโ€™s residence in San Pablo, Isabela, where the Chair discussed the regionโ€™s development concerns and key projects with the Secretary.

The MANCOM officials also visited the NEDA Regional Office at the Regional Government Center with Secretary Balisacan commending the cleanliness and orderliness of the regional office. โ€œThe orderliness and cleanliness of the surroundings reflect the employeesโ€™ characterโ€, said the Secretary during his brief meet and greet with the staff. He also toured around the compound and appreciated the growing trees. He himself planted an Ypil seedling and promised to return some day to check on its growth.

Secretary Balisacan expressed his appreciation to the officers and staff of NEDA Regional Office 02 for their hospitality and welcoming efforts in hosting the NEDA MANCOM. He also acknowledged the remarkable performance of the regional office, through the leadership of Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., for the number of awards and recognitions that the regional office received from the stakeholders.
