The National Economic and Development Authority Region 02 facilitated the 2nd Regular Business Meeting of the Special Regional Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SRC-SDG) on September 17, 2024, at the NEDA Pamegafanan Hall.
The meeting brought together stakeholders from various government agencies and local government units to discuss key priorities in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Region 2. The Committee reviewed and endorsed the Cagayan Valley SDG Catch-Up Plan, a tool which is primarily intended to accelerate the regionโ€™s progress in attaining the SDGs, especially as we approach the 2030 deadline. Another concern that was tackled is the importance of utilizing the Special Regional Committee on the SDGs as a vehicle for localizing the Stakeholdersโ€™ Chamber in Region 2. This initiative ensures that there is a designated body that will serve as the platform for non-government actors to consolidate their SDG-related initiatives. Related to this, a Terms of Reference (TOR) has been prepared by NEDA CO, as the Secretariat of the National Sub-Committee on the SDGs to serve as guide for the RDCs in the localization of the Stakeholdersโ€™ Chamber in the regions. During the meeting, both the SDG Catch-Up Plan and the TOR were endorsed by the Committee to the Regional Development Council.
