NEDA2 Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. and the members of the Management Committee and staff join the DENR Cagayan Valley‘s Tree Hugging Movement from February 10 to 14, 2025. The personnel hugged trees within the NEDA2 grounds, a worthy activity that manifests the concerted and passionate action of the Cagayan Valley Region in protecting and conserving its forests. The activity also served as an alternative and eco-friendly celebration of Valentine’s Day.

The Tree Hugging Movement, inspired by the 1970s “Chipko Movement” in Northern India, also promotes health benefits such as an increase in the hormone level responsible for calmness and emotional well-being.
