In celebration of the National Women’s Month, the NEDA Regional Office 2 takes part in the Purple Mondays Initiative led by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) by wearing purple shirt every Monday for the entire duration of March.

Recognized globally as the color of women that symbolizes justice and dignity, the Purple Mondays Initiative is an advocacy activity to show support in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE).

This year’s celebration pays tribute to the women in society as leaders and agents of change. The campaign features women’s participation in the country’s fight against the pandemic and provides platform for the discussion of gender issues that the pandemic has exacerbated.

In addition to #PurpleMondays, NRO II also posted streamer in its premises. The agency remains committed in making change work for women.
