The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 2 was awarded a Five-Star rating or Grade A in the virtual energy audit spot check conducted by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Public Sector Management Division (EECPSMD) of the Department of Energy (DOE) on 16 July 2021. The office garnered a perfect score of 100% on the said audit.
With this achievement, NEDA Region 2 presented its best practices on energy conservation in the Virtual Energy Audit Orientation on Government Buildings on 8 November 2021 to an audience of more than 200 participants representing national line agencies and local government units across the country.
NEDA Region 2 garnered a perfect score owing it to its continuing effort to reduce power and fuel consumption and in keeping with the government’s energy conservation program. The adoption of all staff of these conservation measures played a big role in the conferment of the distinction.
The energy audit is conducted annually by the DOE in line with RA No. 11285 otherwise known as the “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act”.
