The National Economic and Development Authority Region 2 (NEDA2) celebrates this year’s Nutrition Month with a cookfest at the NEDA2 gym on July 22, 2022. The cookfest was participated in by all employees, interns, and on-the-job trainees. It raised awareness on the importance of a healthy and balanced diet especially during this COVID-19 pandemic as well as showcase the talents and skills of personnel in cooking.

The activity started as a culinary challenge that eventually transformed into a luncheon buffet. Each of the NEDA2 five divisions cooked and served their most nutritious dishes, appetizers, and desserts. The buffet table was filled with several native favorites, including alugbati salad, pinakbet, fish (tilapia) escabeche, pork adobo, roasted chicken, buttered shrimps, chicken curry, and the crowd’s favorite, pork blood stew or commonly called “dinuguan”, prepared by the Finance and Administrative Division.

This year’s celebration theme, “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon” calls for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity as the country shifts towards living with the new normal or post COVID-19 pandemic. With improved nutrition, it is hoped that every Filipino will be more resilient and prepared in facing any pandemic in the near future.
