The National Economic and Development Authority Region 2 (NEDA2) conducted a virtual orientation on the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) Online System (ROS) on October 23, 2023. A total of 57 participants representing agency regional offices, state universities and colleges, government-owned and controlled corporations, and other government instrumentalities attended the activity.
The orientation aims to familiarize the participants on the functionality and features of the ROS as the new system to be used for the submission and updating of agency programs and projects (PAPs) to be enrolled in the RDIP. Aside from facilitating submission, the ROS will be used in tracking the status of enrolled PAPs and as a main reference in the annual budget exercise.
In his opening remarks, NEDA2 Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. said that the ROS is designed to simplify the process of submitting agency PAPs. “This innovation will result in time savings, and make easier the aligning of PAPs with regional development thrusts as espoused in the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Plan (CV RDP) 2023-2028,” he added.
During the orientation, the participants were also briefed about the link between the CV RDP and the RDIP, and the preparation of budget proposals. The guidelines for the updating of the RDIP 2023-2028 was also presented.
The ROS is NEDA2’s initiative to replicate in the region the Public Investment Program Online System (PIPOL), a web-based system used at the national level for the PIP. This was developed by two NEDA2 staff, Senior EDS Reginald M. Agustin and EDS II Adrian Paul C. Mabatan. NEDA2-PDIPBD
