The National Economic Development Authority Regional Office No. 2 (NEDA2) hosted a Catch-up Plan Workshop with active participation from the NEDA Central Office, PSA RO2, SDG sector focal persons, and various implementing agencies across government from February 21-22, 2024 at Go Hotels, Tuguegarao City. The main objective of the workshop was to identify the gaps in achieving SDG targets and prepare an action plan for the remaining years to 2030.

In his opening message, NEDA Region II Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. emphasized the region’s commitment in attaining the promise of the Global Goals to Leave No One Behind. During the workshop, participants from across the government was divided into four thematic groups namely, economics, social, environment, and peace, security, and governance. Each thematic group assessed the latest data and trends, and recommended programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) to address the gaps in achieving the SDGs. Every Policy is Connected (EPiC) tool was used for ease of documentation. The workshop outputs will be sent to the concerned agencies for additional inputs.

Bicol Region (Region V), CALABARZON (Region IV-A), and Northern Mindanao (Region X) served as pilot areas for the workshops last year. This year, Cagayan Valley (Region II) was second to undertake a workshop on the regional core SDG indicators that are regressing and need acceleration. NEDA-PFPD
