The National Economic Development Authority Regional Office No. 2 (NEDA2) led a capacity-building activity on Regional and Urban Physical Planning from March 18 to 20, 2024 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The training was intended to capacitate various regional line agencies including the NEDA staff who will assist in preparing the updated DRR-CAA-enhanced Regional Physical Framework Plan (RPFP). Staff from the five Provincial Planning and Development Offices of the region likewise participated in light of the ongoing updating of their Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plans (PDPFPs).
Two resource persons led the discussion of topics related to regional physical/ land use planning. Engr. Edgardo D. Sabado, the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of Nueva Vizcaya shared the topics on Urban and Regional Planning Concepts, the Philippine Planning System and Processes, and the Analysis of the Planning Environment. On the other hand, Engr. Nicole Ardil D. Pagulong of NEDA discussed how to do a Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA).
In his closing remarks, NEDA Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. stressed the importance of planning in addressing the needs of the people and influencing development directions.
