The Regional Research Dissemination Forum is the first initiative in the region to highlight the results of researches conducted by various research agencies and institutions. It aims to transform the research findings into actions through possible development of policy, adoption of packages of technology, or partnerships with industries and other research stakeholders.
RDC2 Vice Chair and NEDA Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr. stressed the importance of recognizing the outputs of researchers and putting these to good use to create opportunities for economic development, generate more jobs, and increase investments.
โ€œWe need to make our research responsive, meaningful, and useful to our farmers, industry partners, and the government to speed up processes and increase the availability of products in the locality. We should put the researches to use so that the funding is not wasted. We plan to do this Forum every year for the researchers to be heard and recognized,โ€ Director Ledres said.
He encouraged the researchers to carry on with their work, emphasizing that these studies may revolutionize how things will be done in the future. โ€œThere are so many questions and problems confronting us. Just because we have many technologies in agriculture, there will no longer be a problem with food. Just because we have advanced medicines, we will no longer have a problem with any illnesses. Just because there is advanced education, we will not encounter problems such as usage of artificial intelligence and how it will impact our jobs. Research will continue, and you are going to do the searching over and over again,โ€ the Director added.
