NEDA2, along with other members of the Regional Population Executive Board (RPEB), participated in the celebration of the 10th birthday of the six symbolic 100 Millionth Babies in Region 2 on August 15, 2024 in Tuguegarao City.
The birth of these symbolic babies on July 27, 2014, marked a demographic milestone, registering the Philippines’ population at 100 million.
Representing Cagayan Valley region’s 100-Millionth babies are Kendra Dominique Cobaria of Kayvaluganan, Uyugan, Batanes; Mierre Zyrille Joy C. Tuliao of Camasi, PeΓ±ablanca, Cagayan; JC De Mesa Zipangan of Masipi East, Cabagan, Isabela; Jharley Maligsa Ang of Tuao North, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya; Alliyah Pagota Racpan of Magsaysay, Saguday, Quirino; and Darren Macatbag CariΓ±o of Tagaran, Cauayan City, Isabela.
During the celebration, the six kids received birthday gift packs and cash from the members of the RPEB and local stakeholders.
In her message, Commission on Population and Development (CPD II) Regional Director Theresa C. Soriano said that the fundamental rights of these children to basic social services, including health and education, are guaranteed and secured. This is a clear commitment coming from the RPEB members who vowed to support and help ensure the well-being of these six 100 Millionth Babies in Region 2.
