The National Economic and Development Authority Region 02 conducted a two-day writeshop for the crafting of the Sustainable Development Goals Catch-up Plan on August 19-20, 2024, at Las Palmas de San Jose Leisure Club, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The Regional SDG Catch-Up Plan serves as a guide for the overall implementation, resource mobilization, coordination, and advocacy for the SDGs at the regional and local levels until 2030. The activity aimed to: (1) finalize the lagging SDG indicators in conjunction with the SDG Pace of Progress provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority; (2) prepare the draft SDG Regional Catch-up Plan following the format provided by the SDG Secretariat; and (3) discuss with concerned RLAs issues related to data generation and monitoring of the SDG indicators at the regional level.

Moreover, this is a follow-up workshop of the activity conducted last February 21, 2024, where the committee diagnosed gaps in the existing SDG-related programs of the government using the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP)’s Every Policy is Connected (EPiC) Tool and Framework, in conjunction with the SDG Pace of Progress provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The said workshop was participated by the SDG focals of NRO2, specifically from the SDG-TWGs on Economic, Environment, Social and Peace and Security and Governance sectors, as well as representatives from different regional agencies such as the PSA, DepEd, DTI, DILG, DENR, and OCD.
