The National Economic and Development Authority Region 2 (NEDA2) was once again chosen as one of the 15 finalists in the 3rd Gawad ACE-BEN (Agency Contribution for an Ennobling Basic Education towards Nation-building) Award 2024 during the Third Regional Public Affairs Communication and Information Congress conducted by the Department of Education Region 2 on December 11, 2024 in Tuguegarao City. This yearβs theme is: “Propelling Action and Understanding in DepEd Region 02: Towards Excellence in the Bagong Pilipinasβ.
Among the accomplishments highlighted is the implementation of NEDA2βs Adopt-A-Learner Project which provides supplementary learning support to select Grade 3 pupils in Tuguegarao City who have significant educational needs, particularly in Reading and Mathematics. NEDA2 also has several institutional activities such as its support to the Project ClassHome of the DepED as the convergence program of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, conduct of Brigada Eskwela in select school in Isabela, and the integration of basic education in the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Plan and Regional Development Investment Program.
The Gawad ACE BEN is a competition among regional line agencies and local government units with significant accomplishments and contributions in advancing basic education in Region 2.
