The Cagayan Valley Regional Development Plan (CV RDP) 2023-2028 was launched on 8 August 2023 at the Provincial Capitol of Isabela in Ilagan City. Various stakeholders, led by the local chief executives, heads of agencies, and the private sector declared their support to the Plan implementation. This was marked by symbolic signing of the Pledge of Commitment. Hard and electronic copies of the Plan were also turned over to the participants, symbolizing their commitment to transform the Plan into action.

The launch was graced by NEDA Regional Development Group Assistant Secretary Greg L. Pineda, Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon Assistant Secretary Ana Carmela Ventura-Remigio, and RDC2 Chair Gov. Rodolfo T. Albano III.

Asec Greg L. Pineda, in his keynote message, congratulated the RDC members for completing the CV RDP. He expressed his gratitude to the LGUs, RLAs, and the private sector for their valuable inputs during the Plan formulation. He highlighted the vital role of the RDC in setting the region’s direction for economic and social transformation. “We need the active participation of each and every one of you to turn this Plan into action, with the hopeful expectation that every Filipino will reap the benefits of the transformation we are striving for,” Asec Pineda said.

RDC2 Chair and Isabela Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III called for a shared responsibility among all stakeholders towards the realization of the Plan. He underscored the role of the LGUs in localizing the CV RDP being at the forefront in providing economic and social services to the people. The Chair expected the stakeholders to be as cohesive, committed, and aggressive in ensuring that the Plan goals and strategies are complemented with programs, projects, and activities.

To promote greater collaboration among stakeholders, 22 government agencies shared their priority programs and projects in the next six years in a series of plenary discussions along topics of governance, infrastructure, agriculture, industry and services, and social services.

Asec Ana Carmela Ventura-Remigio, in her closing message, reminded everyone’s distinct role as public servants to serve the nation by providing genuine, effective, and inclusive public service. She said that through the Plan, the region will be guided towards achieving prosperity and productivity. She expressed her full support to the implementation of the CV RDP 2023-2028.

Almost three hundred participants from the LGUs, regional line agencies, private sector, and the academe witnessed the event.

The successful conduct of the activity is a manifestation of strong partnership among development stakeholders in the region, each of whom contributed their share of resources from use of venue, meals and snacks, musical and cultural talents, and resource persons.# NEDA-DRD
